A Clarion Call To Our Bishops
From The Catholic Faithful of Ireland
The Lumen Fidei Institute Spring Conference
Glenroyal Hotel, Maynooth, Tuesday 12th March, 2019.
9.30am to 6.00pm
The Lumen Fidei Institute sent a letter to each of the twenty-five bishops in Ireland last September, to highlight our concerns over the promotion of the LGBT agenda in our Catholic schools and the damage that this will do to children who are educated in these Catholic schools. Seventy-two percent of the Irish bishops chose to ignore a letter from concerned parents dealing with an issue that they had raised concerning child safety.
Because ignoring parent’s concerns about child safety is unacceptable, we have decided that we needed to follow up on this initiative and on the poor response from our Irish bishops. We will therefore host a one day conference in the Glenroyal Hotel in Maynooth on Tuesday March 12th 2019. This coincides with
the Irish Bishop’s Conference Spring Meeting, which will be held in St Patrick’s College, Maynooth from Monday 11th to Wednesday 13th March.
As part of this initiative we will have a Rosary procession, with a beautiful statue of Our Lady of Fatima, and we will process from the Glenroyal Hotel down to the Irish Bishop’s Conference, reciting the Rosary along the way. On arrival at St Patrick’s College Maynooth, we will present a petition to the Irish Bishops from the Faithful Catholics of Ireland.
This petition will respectfully ask the Irish Bishops to make our Catholic schools truly Catholic; it will ask them to ensure a proper Catholic priestly formation for Irish seminarians in Maynooth; and it will also ask them to ensure that only faithful Catholic clergy are allowed to minister to the Catholic laity of Ireland.
Admission to the conference is free and we encourage as many people as possible to come and join us, especially for the Rosary procession and presentation of the petition to the Irish Bishops. We encourage prayer groups and other Catholic groups to come with your group. If you are able to organise a bus from your area then please get in touch with John Lacken and we can co-ordinate some travel arrangements.
